HISTORY OF ZETA RHO CHAPTER

Then & Now

The men who founded Zeta Rho chapter were living proof of men with “similar attainment and like ideals”. The chapter members had a unique quality because if the combination of individuals who at a young age had vigor, enthusiasm, and prized the element of friendship. All of the chartering Brothers were from the state of Louisiana, and eight of them were from Southern University’s Beta Sigma chapter. In their opinion, their friendship transcended that of other chapters for it literally had no boundaries. The words “In unity there is strength”: was the catalytic force that perpetuated Zeta Rho into its existence and is that which bonds the chapter today. There is no “Big I” and “Little You”, we are all equals. All brothers. This is the essence of Zeta Rho.

Zeta Rho is one of the most influential chapters in the district and in the nation. The term “Excellence is a minimum standard” which when shown by its results, sets Zeta Rho as the model chapter in the Los Angeles area and in the twelfth district. On the district level, Omega men from Zeta Rho have held the title of District Representative (twice), First Vice District Representative, District Keeper of Record and Seal (three times), and District Marshall (twice), in addition to Chairmanships of the various committees.
